Benefits Of Distilled Water On The Body–Are You Drinking Enough?

The benefits of distilled water on the body are amazing.  The thing you have been told about drinking water is due to drinking distilled water not tap water.  Check out the post, What’s In Your Water?–Why Drinking Distilled Water Is The Preferred Option, where it talks about all the reasons why you shouldn’t drink the stuff coming out of your faucet.  Distilled water has some amazing benefits that need to be listed in this post.  Here are a few:

Does A More Thorough Flush Than Other Drinking Watersbenefits-of-distilled-water-on-the-body-flush

Tap water is something that doesn’t need to be mentioned when it comes to flushing out the body.  If you drink tap water, more than likely, you are leaving behind a lot of the stuff your body needs to get rid of.  Distilled water is called “empty water” so it holds more toxins, bacteria, viruses, and parasites that need to leave the body.  Whenever you use the bathroom, you are flushing out the body of things that don’t belong in your body.  Excess vitamins and minerals your body doesn’t absorb, toxins, bacteria, etc. leaves your body to prevent it from being clogged and bogged down.  If you drink distilled water, it holds a lot of these things within it, so it can leave your body more thoroughly.

Maintains Healthier Kidneys And Other Organs In The Body

Your organs work together to keep you mobile, reproducing, and to continue living.  You have a system in your body that gets rid of waste to prevent it from getting sick from all the things we get bombarded by.  If it’s pollution, microorganism, or just a build up from the food and beverages we consume, our body has a way of getting rid of it by any means.  When you drink distilled water, it makes sure this system (and other systems in the body) are running smoothly.  Just like a filter needs to be cleaned so it can filter things out properly, so do the organs that get rid of waste.  If you drink a lot of water, you notice that you are using the bathroom constantly.  This is your body getting rid of excess water.  When this happens, all the garbage that was left behind leaves right with that excess water.

Distilled Water Helps You Think Clearlybenefits-of-distilled-water-think-clearly

When the body is clean, the brain becomes more sharper and can concentrate more effectively.  If you’ve heard cases from people who go on water fasts, they’ll say that they are more alert, they can think clearly, and have more energy.  Well, when the body is clean, it functions properly.  That includes the mental function.  You have to keep in mind that the brain is the control center of the whole body.  When something happens to the brain, it can affect  certain parts of your body or shut down completely.  Drinking distilled water helps clean the body more effectively so, when you drink distilled water, even when you’re not on a fast, the foods you eat, the beverages you drink, the pollution in the air doesn’t effect you as much if you aren’t drinking any water at all.

Just by drinking more distilled water, you’ll notice that your energy is boosted the first time around.  When you’re not drinking it often, you’ll see a big difference in your energy level and how it dropped.

You Get Rid Of More Waste Products From Your Body

Not to gross you out, but urination is not the only thing that happens when you drink a lot of water.  When you drink more water, you’ll notice that you may be taking a “number 2” more often as well.  Why?  Well, think about it.  Even though it’s solid waste, water is still used to move that waste out of your body.  This is why if you have an excess amount of water or not enough water, you will either be constipated, have diarrhea, or not able to go altogether.  Distilled water holds more waste products so it can collect it and bring it to places it needs to go.  That means you’ll have more solid waste and urination happening.  You may not go often, but if you’re stopped up, you’ll see a heavier volume in one go.

Is Drinking More Liquids Just As Good As Drinking More Water?

As you already know, when you drink or eat something, your body takes what it needs from it and gets rid of the rest.  So if you’re drinking juice, it will take the vitamins and sugars from the juice and get rid of whatever it doesn’t need.  Same thing with food.  Let’s get something straight… drinking more liquids other than water is not the same as drinking more water.  Some liquids you drink can actually dehydrate you.  This is one of the reasons why it’s not healthy to drink sea water.  Even though it’s a liquid, and it’s water, the water itself will dehydrate you and your body actually rejects it.  Not only that but it has a lot of fecal matter, sand, and other contaminants that don’t belong in your body.  If you drink coffee, it’s another drink that can dehydrate you.  When you don’t drink enough water, you may notice that you’ll get headaches.  The reason why is you’re dehydrated.  This is a warning sign that you need to drink water before things get worse.

The body needs water to hydrate itself.  Trying to hydrate with things like coffee, energy drink, etc. without drinking water, may actually keep you dehydrated.  A lack of water is not something to take lightly.  Your kidneys can actually shut down when it’s not properly hydrated because it’s not being flushed properly.  When your body dehydrates, not only can the kidneys shut down, but it can affect the rest of your body as well.  Don’t think that just because something is wet that it’s giving you the hydration you need.  There’s no substitute for H20 (the word hydration comes from the word hydrogen, which is the same thing that’s in water).

Improve Your Health By Drinking More Waterbenefits-of-distilled-water-on-the-body-drinking-water

When you drink more water, your body can absorb the vitamins in food and get rid of the excess waste more effectively.  If you’re not drinking water, waste material in the body seem to linger a lot longer.  So if you’re not having frequent bowel movements or they seem to be days apart from one another, you may need to be drinking more water.  So picture this:

When you eat, food is being passed through your digestive tract, and the remaining waste is passed through the intestine.  Once all the nutrients have been absorbed, the leftovers are passing through the intestine so they can evacuate either the urethra or the rectum.  When you’re not drinking enough water, you’ll notice that your urine is dark yellow or orange.  Your body  is using the little water it has to get rid of the urine.  You’ll notice that when you drink a lot of water, your urine is light yellow or clear.  This means you have an abundance of water in your system.  You’ll also notice more bowel movements or a heavier volume of solid waste if you’ve haven’t been taking a “number 2” in a while.  Just because you didn’t go, doesn’t mean you don’t have solid waste in your intestine, waiting to leave the body.

You Still Get Rid Of Solid Waste Even When You’re Fasting

If you went on a water fast, even though you haven’t eaten anything over a few days or weeks, you’re still taking a “number 2”.  Why?  Think of it like this.  You have miles of intestine in your body (you heard that right… miles of intestine.  It’s just set in your body in a way that everything fits) and each time you use the bathroom, you still have solid waste in your body.  Believe it or not but you still have solid waste in your body from food you’ve eating YEARS ago.  When you go on a water fast, this is your body detoxifying itself, getting rid of years of solid waste that hasn’t passed through your system yet.  When you eat, you never give your body a chance to get rid of everything, so as you eat, you’re just pushing out the stuff you probably ate years ago.

A Lot Of Illnesses and Diseases Come From Build-Up In The Body

Think of all the diseases we have in this day and age.  A lot of times it links to the systems in the body that gets rid of waste.  You have Renal Disease (a disease of the kidneys), colon cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer, Crohn’s Disease, liver disease, etc.  When the system that cleans the body get clogged and blocked, it stops functioning properly and then it starts a chain reaction.  You may have heart disease because your lungs aren’t working properly.  When you’re young, you don’t think about this happening to you until you start feeling those aches and pains.  Then one day the pain is so unbearable that you go to the doctor.  The doctor looks at you and tells you that you have some kind of disease.

If You’re Not Feeling Well, Try To Do A 1-2 Day Water Fastbenefits-of-distilled-water-on-the-body-water-fasting

I am not a physician or an expert on fasting.  If you are interesting in doing a 1-2 day fast, consult a physician and do your own research how to do a fast.  After reading this, do your research to make sure everything I mention is plausible and will work for you.

The first thing you want to do is pick a day or two where you don’t have to do any strenuous activity.  Fasting does not mean “starve yourself”.  In the wild, when an animal is injured, it fasts for a few days to heal faster.  Indigenous people normally do long fast (sometimes 3-7 days or more) to when there is no food source around.  As a matter of fact, eating every two hours is something that’s fairly new from an evolutionary standpoint.  In ancient times people would eat a big feast and fast until they ate another meal.  This was sometimes the next day.

Anyway, if you find yourself not feeling well, don’t eat anything for about 24-48 hours and drink nothing but distilled water.  Why?  If you’re fighting a bug or your body needs repair itself, it needs rest.  That’s external rest (not doing any strenuous activity) and internal rest (your body is not working hard to digest food).  So what ends up happening is your body is cleansing itself and flushing out the toxins that’s making you sick, you’re constantly using the bathroom to get rid of whatever’s making you sick a lot faster, and you’re resting so your body isn’t working extra hard and can focus on repairing itself after it’s battle with whatever’s  making you sick.

This won’t be easy, especially if you’re use to eating every two hours or so.  What you want to do is lay in your bed and just relax.  If you’re one of those people that must do something, do some non-strenuous cleaning like cleaning out your junk drawer or go through some papers to see what needs to be thrown away.  After a day or two, you may notice that you feel much better, now all you want to do is get something to eat.

So How Much Water Should You Drink?benefits-of-distilled-water-on-the-body-how-much-water

For many years we’ve been told that we should be drinking at least 8 8-oz glasses of water.  That’s approximately half a gallon.  This is usually for the average person.  For people who are more active, they recommend at least one gallon per day.  This sounds like a lot but it’s really not that hard to do.  I did one-gallon-per-day of distilled water for about two months.  During that time, I had more energy and mental clarity.  The only problem you’ll run into is you’ll constantly be running to the bathroom, which can be annoying, especially after going about an hour ago.

Does Drinking So Much Distilled Water Lead To An Early Death

Saying that drinking distilled water leads to an early death is like saying that breathing pure clean air with no pollution is going to kill you.  We should be drinking the cleanest water, with nothing added to it, so we can get rid of a lot of junk in our bodies.  What you may notice from drinking a gallon of distilled water is you may not get sick frequently.  If you do get sick, you may be able to fight it off faster than before.  Being that you are constantly flushing your body out, you’re removing the things that’s making you sick at a much higher rate.

benefits-of-distilled-water-on-the-body-one-gallonDrinking a gallon of distilled water will not leech the mineral from your body.  Only the inorganic minerals.  It will actually get rid of excess mineral deposits that may cause kidney stones.   How?  When you’re flushing out the body on a regular basis, these stones don’t have a chance to form.  Excess minerals are excreted through the body, only allowing the amount of your body needs to function to be absorbed properly.  Think about it, in ancient times, people did not take vitamin and mineral capsules to get their recommended daily intake.  Instead, they relied on the food to provide them with the vitamins and nutrients they needed.  Yes, the food was more vitamin and mineral-rich in ancient times, but just like today, whatever the body didn’t use, it was removed from the body through the waste.

Can Drinking A Gallon Of Distilled Water A Day Cause Water Intoxication?

You get water intoxication (the medical term is hyponatremia) from drinking too much water on a daily basis.  The sodium in your body drops too low, which can cause certain organs to shut down.  This can be fatal.

Are you afraid?

Well don’t be.  According to WebMD, you would need to drink GALLONS AND GALLONS of water per day for that to happen.  So if you’re drinking about 6 gallons a day (maybe less, maybe more), you may be running into water intoxication territory.

The truth is, we run the risk of dehydrating than over-hydrating.  All the foods we eat have a high level of sodium.  The more salt we eat, the more likely we dehydrate our bodies.  Keep in mind that just because something isn’t salty doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a high level of sodium.  Drinking a gallon of distilled water per day actually helps flush out excess salt in your body to keep you from dehydrating.

Drinking a gallon a day will not give you water intoxication because we get rid of so much water aside from urination.  When we sweat, we are getting rid of water.  This is why you’re told to drink a lot of water when you workout or if it’s really hot outside.

Your body is a very intelligent machine.  Whenever you have an excess amount of water in your system it doesn’t need, it gets rid of it.  So if you’re drinking a gallon of water, you’ll be running to the bathroom all day long.  Your body absorbs what it needs and gets rid of the rest.  You want this constant flush throughout the day (even though it’s annoying at times) because while you’re getting rid of this water, you are getting rid of toxins that don’t belong in your body.

Do You Have To Drink Only Distilled Water For Better Health?

You have other types of water, such as spring water and alkaline water, that hydrates your body, but as I’ve been drilling into your head:

“The less you have in your water, the more toxins it can hold”

Spring water is very good water to drink if the source is good.  Even with a good source, you’ll have small amounts of natural elements in your water.  These won’t harm you, but it still occupies a space in your water on a molecular level.

Another thing about spring water is, unless you have a spring in your backyard, it can be very expensive over time.  Spring water is actually more expensive than distilled water when you buy it by the gallon.

Does It Really Matter What Kind Of Water I Drink To Hydrate My Body?  Water’s Water!

The quality of your water determines the quality of your health.  Our bodies are about 75% water.  If you put contaminated water in your body, it may not do damage right away, but over time your health will suffer.  It is to my understanding that one of the main reasons why we have so many illnesses and diseases are due to our water supply.  Our tap water has impurities and chemicals in it that can affect our bodies in a major way throughout our lives.  With the advice of drinking 8 glasses of water a day, this just accelerates the process.

When you replace tap water with a higher quality of water, you’ll notice your health start to improve.  You flush out your system of the things your body doesn’t need, without leaving any of the bad stuff behind.

Enjoy Some Of The Best Water You Can Drink Right From Your Counter Top

We all know how expensive bottled water can be.  Fortunately, you can take the tap water running from your faucet and transform it into crystal clear distilled water.  Using the power of steam distillation, your tap water is purified.  You don’t have to worry about any parasites.  You don’t have to worry about any of the harsh chemicals.  Finally you can drink pure water.  The type of water you should be drinking for better health.  This is the type of water you should be drinking 8 glasses of.

What’s In Your Water?–Why Drinking Distilled Water Is The Preferred Option

Do you know what’s in your water? If you actually knew what’s in the water you drink, you’ll know why drinking distilled water is the preferred choice.  The thing is people tell you to drink 8 glasses of water a day, but they don’t tell you what type of water you should be drinking.  If you’re drinking it right out of the tap, you may want to keep reading to find out what it is you’re putting into your body with all this water you’re drinking.

The Water Treatment Process

The water treatment process takes water from a water source (lake, river, etc.), and makes it “drinkable” for a population.  It does a whats-in-your-water-the-water-treatment-processgood job of making the water pass certain specification to keep the citizens of a small town or a large city hydrated with minimal risk of disease.  Keep in mind that “passing” doesn’t mean perfect.  The water treatment plant runs test to make sure there isn’t a high enough level of bacteria and viruses to kill people who rely on this drinking supply.  Also, the chemicals used to treat the water, such as chlorine, is not good for the body.  These chemicals may link to certain circulatory and hormonal irregularities.

Here’s a water treatment  process example from Winnipeg, Canada.

The Aqueduct

Untreated water can come from many places.  Certain areas use different water sources.  The water travels down a huge pipe into a holding take that can hold billions of gallons of water.  From these holding tanks, the water is pumped through the water treatment facility.  Keep in mind that there are countless amounts of contaminants that flow through the aqueduct into these holding tanks.  This includes soil, traces of fecal matter, garbage, metals, and other things that need to be filtered out before it reaches the tap.

Inside The Treatment Plant

Certain chemical mixtures are added to the water once it enters the plant.  Sulfuric Acid is used to lower the PH of the water and Ferric Chloride is added to allow organisms to stick together

Next, it enters a flocculation basin, where it stir the water to allow particles to collide and stick together so it can form large clumps.  Once the large clumps form, they are removed from the water through large dissolved air flotation tanks.  From there, the clumps are removed and pumped for more processing.  The treated water is collected from the bottom of the tank.

The treated water flows from the dissolved air flotation tank to another tank where ozone is added.  This is called ozonation.  It does three things:

whats-in-your-water-inside-the-treatment-plant

1. It destroys MOST (not all) of the harmful bacteria

2. Improves filtration in the next treatment stage

3. Improves taste and odor of the water

The next process is carbon filtration.  This removes small particles and parasites.  Once the water has been carbon filtered, it is disinfected with chlorine.  Sodium Hydroxide is added to bring the PH of the water back to it’s original level.  After chlorine disinfection, the water goes through another process of disinfection using UV light.

Once the water has been UV light disinfected, it goes through another pipe where Fluoride  is added to “protect tooth decay” and ortho-phosphate is added to prevent pipe corrosion, which can lead to lead poisoning if it leeches into the water supply.

Once it goes through the final process in the water treatment plant, the treated water flows into reservoirs around the the city/town and more chlorine is added to prevent bacteria from contaminating the treated water until it reaches your tap.

The final step in the treatment plant is to take the water that still has solid matter from the dissolved air flotation process, and let it pass into a settling pond outside the plant.  During the freezing and thawing process, the water flows into a sewage treatment plant, and the solids from the settling pond is taken to the landfill.

Your Tap

whats-in-your-water-your-tap

After water has been through it’s treatment process, it is distributed to homes, businesses, etc. all over the area.  The water that enters your home is used for drinking, cleaning, cooking, bathing, etc.  Now that you know the process, it brings a little clarity (no pun intended) to what happens to water before it comes out of the tap.

The Treatment Process Isn’t Perfect

Just because your water went through a water treatment process, doesn’t mean it’s perfect.  Keep in mind that a lot of microorganism are still floating through our tap water because the chemicals used doesn’t kill everything.  Also, the chemicals used during the treating process is still in the water when it leaves the water distribution plants.  Here are some things that is still in the water.

Microorganisms

Unseen by the naked eye, you have microorganisms floating around in your tap water.  During whats-in-your-water-microorganismsthe treatment process, there are many microorganisms that survive during this process.  What isn’t killed off is floating around in your water right before you drink it.  According to The Daily Mail, many of these organisms are responsible for gut problems such as Crohn’s disease.   This is not the only disease that drinking tap water is linked to.

Unfortunately, when you’re thirsty, and the only water source available is the running water from your faucet, you’re introducing more harmful bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms into your body.  This doesn’t kill you instantly and in small amounts, but you’ve always been told to drink more water to keep your body healthy. Now we know that by drinking tap water, we are actually doing more harm than good.

Types Microorganisms In Drinking Water

The two main types we’re going to discuss are viruses and bacteria.  Being that bacteria and viruses come in contact with our drinking water in many ways, the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) regulates the maximum contaminant levels.  Bacteria and viruses can cause diseases and illnesses in humans and animals.  It’s the EPA’s job to make sure that our water supply is “drinkable” by the government’s specifications and standards.  If there is a high level of contamination in the water, it may be due to poor water treatment in the area.

According to Water Tech Online, it mentions that there are certain pathogens in pre-treated or poorly treated water that can cause disease and illness.  Here is a short list:

Legionella: A bacteria that thrives in warm waters.  Can cause health problems if the contaminated water vapor is inhaled.  This is common with showering and air conditioning.  The water is “aerosolized”  and can enter the lungs, which can causes a type of pneumonia called “Legionaire’s  Disease”.

Enteroviruses: Small viruses living in infected humans or animals intestines. There are about 62 enteroviruses that can cause meningitis and gastroenteritis.

The water treatment plant’s job is to make sure that harmful microorganism are not thriving in drinking water.  There is a process that kills off certain bacteria and viruses, so any diseases-causing microorganisms don’t get into the drinking supply, which can make a whole population sick.  This is the intent, but it’s not perfect.  By killing off one bacteria or virus, you may introduce things into the body that does not belong.

Chlorine

Chlorine is used to disinfect to water during the water treatment process.  What chlorination whats-in-your-water-chlorinedoes is it kills off bacteria and certain viruses by attacking the  cell membrane.  Unfortunately, there are certain bacteria that is resistant to chlorine.  Truth be told, but chlorine is one of those things that really shouldn’t be put in your body.

Affects Of Chlorine On The Body

If you do a search for “Affects of chlorine on the body”, you’ll see some interesting things.  One of them is the possibility of chlorinated water leading to cancer.  Not saying this is 100% true, but it seems like anything you do, you are likely to get cancer in some shape, form, or fashion.  Even the healthiest people get some kind of cancer.  People who drink a lot of water.  What if the water they’re drinking is tap water and has been for decades?  In small amounts, it doesn’t kill you, but over time, your body has been bombarded with so much of it that they start to get cancer.

The water you drink shouldn’t have chemicals added to it anyway.  The cleanest water has NOTHING added to it.  That includes cleaning and disinfecting agents like chlorine.  So if it causes cancer or not, would you put 1ml of bleach into a gallon of water and drink it?  It may not kill you, but even you know that this is not something that is good for you in the long run.

Fluoride

whats-in-your-water-fluorideFluoride is added to drinking water to prevent tooth decay.  You have toothpaste that has fluoride added to it.  Here’s a question:

“If it’s in your toothpaste, do you really need it in your water?”

Another question:

“If it’s in your water, do you need to buy toothpaste that has fluoride in it?”

One more question:

“If Fluoride is not bad for you, why do they tell you to call poison control if you swallow a certain amount of toothpaste with Fluoride?”

If you look at the label of a Fluoride-free toothpaste, it does not have this warning on it.

Fluoride is another one of those things that doesn’t really belong in the body.  Think about it, for hundreds of thousands of years, we have not been drinking fluoridated water.  So why is it that we need it to prevent tooth decay?  The funny thing is if you look inside of the vast majority of people’s mouths, you’ll see something that looks silver called fillings.  The reason why you get fillings is because you have a tooth (or teeth) that have holes in them.  Is the fluoride not doing it’s job?  People brush their teeth twice to three times a day, they drink plenty of water with fluoride in it, but yet they still get holes in their teeth that send them to the dentist to get fillings.

Pesticides

Did you know that there are pesticides in your drinking water?  You have to remember that the farms spray pesticides to protect their crops.  Those pesticides can get into ground water, and later on, into your body.  If the purpose of pesticides it to KILL bugs, do you want that in your body?  Would you take a thimble-sized amount of bug spray and put it in a gallon of water and start drinking it?

Pesticide levels in drinking water in certain area may be higher than in others, but it’s very important that you understand that if it’s a little or a lot, it can cause health problems over time.

Heavy Metalswhats-in-your-water-heavy-metals

Don’t confuse this for a music genre, but heavy metals (aluminum, lead, etc) can leech into your water from the method it travels… through the pipes.  You have to understand there are miles upon miles of pipes all over the country that have not been updated or exchanged.  Yes, there is something put into the water that keeps the pipes from corroding, but it’s only a matter of time.  Aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer’s and dementia in the elderly.  There are many ways to get these metals into your body such as:

  • Cooking (aluminum cookware, and aluminum foil)
  • Deodorant (some deodorants contain aluminum)
  • Tap water (pipes used to transport water)

We need to understand something.  A lot of diseases that have been around for a century or two may be linked to the very things we are told to drink a lot of.

What’s In Your Water If Your Water Has Been Distilled?

With all this talk about the harmful things in tap water, you may think that there’s no hope.  Youwhats-in-your-water-whats-in-distilled-water think you’re going to dehydrate.  You can still drink water, but your water should be returned back to it’s original form before it even landed in the lakes, rivers, and ocean.  So what’s in your water if it’s been distilled?  The answer to that is… nothing!

The Distillation Process

The distillation process is used to get rid of impurities in your water by heating the water to a point where it turns into water vapor, that vapor is cooled and turned back into a liquid.  This happens in nature.  We have water on the Earth, it evaporates due to the rays from the sun, when the water vapor travels to the sky, it starts to cool, and that water vapor turns into rain.

Distilled water is used widely because it has nothing in it.  So the harsh chemicals in tap water can’t corrode metal.  This is why distilled water is used for machinery and engines.  There are no bacteria in the water from sitting in a pond, lake, or just out in the open air.  This is why it is used in dentistry and surgical purposes.

The distillation process is very simple, but it gets rid of all the impurities in your water than a sophisticated water treatment plant can get rid of.  No harmful chemicals are added to disinfect the water.  It’s not that you’re adding things to your water to make it safe for drinking.  You are actually removing things from your water.

1. The water is place in some sort of holding tank.

2. Heat is added to the holding tank.

3. The Water begins to boil, which causes steam to form.

4. While the steam rises, a cooling fan turns the vapor back into liquid.

5. The carbon filter filters out Volatile Organic Compounds, which are organic compounds that evaporate at low temperatures.  This is a temperature before the water starts boiling.  It also gets rid of anything that can travel as a vapor during the heating process.  The distilled water drips through the carbon filter to filter out anything that may have latched on to the water molecules during the cooling phase.

The distillation process is a slow process, but it gives you some of the cleanest water you’ve ever drank.  You can buy this water in a bottle from your local grocery store.  You can also make it with a water distillation machine that fits right on you counter top.

With a counter top water distiller, it takes about 4-6 hours to get one gallon of water.  If you ever buy a water distiller machine, do not use a plastic water catcher.  It will make your water taste like plastic.  A glass water catcher is great because the water will not taste like the container it was sitting in for 4-6 hours.

Distilled Water Can Lead To An Early Death?

There is some misinformation going around the Internet saying that drinking distilled water can lead to an early death.  The reasons given are:

  • It leeches minerals from the body
  • It’s “dead”  or “empty” water and doesn’t have the minerals your body needs
  • It’s very acidic

There may be more reasons they give, but let me debunk a few of those myths for you.

Myth #1: Distilled Water Leeches Minerals From The Body

Basically there are two types of minerals

  1. Organic minerals:  The naturally-occurring minerals we get from the foods we eat.
  2. Inorganic minerals: Man-made minerals that is added to food products

Distilled water latches onto these inorganic minerals like a magnet and removing them from the body.  The organic minerals are left alone because these minerals do not “magnetize” to distilled water the same way inorganic minerals do.

Myth #2: Distilled Water Is “Dead” or “Empty” Water

When people here the words “dead” or “empty” water, it sounds very negative and there needs to be an explanation on why this is not a bad thing.

Let’s say you have an empty gallon jug.  If it’s empty,  you can fill it with more liquids that equal to one gallon.  Now,  let’s say you have another gallon jug, but this one is half full of water with food coloring.  Not only is will you not be able to  hold a full gallon of clean water in it, but you also have water that is not drinkable already occupying the container.

Distilled water is like an empty gallon jug and tap water, or water that has things added to, is like the gallon jug half filled with water mixed with food coloring.  When it comes to cleansing your body of toxins (one of the reasons why we drink water in the first place), distilled water holds more toxins because it’s empty.  The other waters are filled with other things so they cannot cleanse the body properly.  You’re actually leaving things behind while you drink.

Eat foods to give you the minerals you need.  Don’t rely on your drinking water to do it for you.

Myth #3: It’s Very Acidic

Drinking distilled water will not corrode your teeth and bones.  It’s acidic (when distilled water mixes with the air, it forms carbonic acid), but it’s not corrosive.  Drinking distilled water actually alkalizes the body, similar to drinking water with an acidic lemon.

There is a man by the name of Andrew Norton Webber who talks in depth about the many distilled waters, not just the actual water.  We have the juice in a fruit.  We have rain before it gets contaminated by areas with bad air pollution.  We even have Urine!  There are people who drink their urine and it has amazing benefits.  I am not brave enough to test it myself.

Distilled Water Is Natural

Distilled water is closest to nature as you can get.  The reason why you have so many contaminants in the water is because it sits in certain places and it starts to get mold, bacteria, and viruses added to it in nature.  Animal fecal matter gets in the water and parasites start to form.  The dirt and other things we don’t need in our body gets in the water once the water has sat for a long period of time.  Rivers and springs that flow constantly reduce this contamination, but dirt and rock sediment traces can still flow with the water.   Spring water is only safe to drink if the water source is not contaminated.

If you sat a container outside during a thunderstorm, do you know that water is safe to drink?  It will require filtration due to air pollution and other elements that travel through the air, but it will not kill you.  If you were stranded on a deserted island, you would rely on rainfall to quench your thirst.  Sea water is not safe to drink.

Did You Know You Can Create Distilled Water Out Of Thin Air?

whats-in-your-water-water-out-of-thin-airYes, there are machines called dehumidifiers that pull the moisture from the air and turns it into water.  Did you know that you can also get your drinking water the same way?  Unlike a dehumidifier, you will need a filtration system to filter out impurities from the air that can get in your water.  It will filter the air, the machine turns the moisture from the air into water, and this water gets filtered out before it is placed in a container where it’s ready to drink.  They actually have machines that do this and holds gallons of water.

Distilled Water Health Benefits

Think of all the reasons why we drink water.  When your water is not full of chemicals or microorganisms, it can do what it’s suppose to do and more.

Flushes Out The Body More Effectively

You may not know this but drinking distilled water helps flush out the body more effectively than any other type of water.  Why?  Because it leaves nothing behind.  Drinking tap water has chemicals and microorganisms still floating around in it, so when you drink it, a lot of that stuff is left behind.  When you drink distilled water, there’s nothing in it, so when it passes through your body, it only flushes things out… the bad things that don’t belong in your body.

It Holds More Toxins That Can Be Released From The Body

The more “empty” something is, the more it can hold.  When you drink distilled water, your body is not only hydrating itself, but it’s also getting rid of toxins that don’t belong in your body.  It’s removing excessive amounts of salt and other minerals that can build up and harden in your organs.  A big reason why people get kidney stones is due to some type of build up in the kidneys.  When you’re flushing out your kidneys with distilled water, you don’t allow the build up to occur.

People Who Do Water Fast Prefer Distilled Water

When you go on a water fast, that means you’re not eating anything for a certain amount of days.  All you’re doing is drinking water to cleanse the body.  During a water fast, people are able to let their digestive tract take a break and get rid of the excess garbage we leave behind each time we eat… not matter how healthy or organic the food is.  When the body is not using it’s energy to digest food all day long, it can start healing itself more effectively.  In the wild, when an animal is injured, it goes on a fast, so it can heal itself.  There have been case studies of people who went on a water fast were actually able to heal faster than people who eat as they normally do.

The reason why people use distilled water during a water fast is because all the water is doing is passing through their system to aid in cleaning up all the garbage that was left behind.  If you’re interested in going on a water fast, consult your doctor and a practitioner of water fasting to make sure your body can handle it.

Try This Experiment:  Boil One Pot Of Tap Water And One Pot Of Distilled Water

whats-in-your-water-boiling-waterTry this little experiment.  Buy a bottle of distilled water or make your own using a distilled water machine.  Put one cup of distilled water in a pot and put tap water in another pot.  Let both of them boil out.  That means that all the water in both pots evaporate.  Next, look at the bottom of both pots.  You’ll notice residue or a hard build-up at the bottom of the pot with tap water.  The one that had distilled water will have nothing left behind.

Imagine what’s happening to the inside of your body when you’re drinking tap water.  That build up over time can get into your organs, which can lead to kidney failure and heart disease.  When your water leaves nothing behind, and flushes out the stuff that doesn’t belong, your body will be able to work at peak performance.  When we eat food that’s not the best for us, at least the water we drink can counteract some of that stuff we put into our bodies to keep us living a little longer.

You’ll Notice a Big Difference In Taste With Distilled Water

When you drink it for the first time, distilled water taste bland.  The reason why is because we are use to things being added to our tap water to give it a certain taste and smell.  After a while, you’ll get use to the bland taste and actually enjoy it.  When you go back to drinking tap water, it will taste weird.  You’ll notice that taste was actually chlorine and other chemicals.

The texture is different too.  You’ll notice that tap water taste a little grittier than distilled water.  You won’t notice until you haven’t drank it in a while.  When you go back to tap water (it may be the only water you have available), you’ll notice almost instantly.

Distilled Water Is Safe For Cooking And Giving To Your Pets

Cooking your food in distilled water will not deplete your food of it’s vitamins no more than cooking it any other way.   As far as being safe for animals, your pets have no problem drinking out of the toilet.  Distilled water is cleaner than the stuff coming from your tap and even more cleaner than toilet water.

Distilled water is very cheap to buy.  You’re spending about $1 per gallon, but it’s of a higher quality than a lot of these drinks on the market that say they’ll give you all this energy.  Most of these energy drinks are loaded with sugar and caffeine.  For a lot of us, caffeine and energy drinks don’t have any effect of us.  Want more energy?  Cleanse your system.  Drink distilled water on a regular basis.  Clear out the garbage you’re putting in your system.  You may be constantly using the bathroom, but over time you’ll notice that you don’t feel as sluggish as you use to.  You won’t need to grab the energy drinks to get your energy.  Your body will be functioning at a higher capacity because it’s not being bogged down by all the toxins and built-up in your body.

Now Do You See Why Distilled Water Should Be Your Preferred Choice?

People always say that “water’s water”.  Now you understand that there’s a little more to it.  It’s something so simple, but so vital.  It’s something that’s affecting you on a molecular level.  You can’t see what’s going on, but you’ll feel the effects years down the line when you choose either a lower quality of water or a higher quality of water.  Choose water that has nothing added, but all the bad stuff taken away.  Choose the water that cleanses you at a much higher capacity.  Choose the water that is cheaper, but does what no other beverage can do when it comes to your health.

Should You Buy Your Distilled Water Or Make Your Distilled Water?

Let’s do the math.

This is how much it would cost to buy distilled water every day over five years:

$1 per gallon X 365 days = $365 per year

$365 X 5 years = $1, 825 every five years.

How much it would cost to make your own distilled water?

$250 Water Distiller machine  + $27  24-charcoal filter replacements = $ 277 one -time payment

The charcoal filters need to be replaced every 2-3 months.

So that’s only 1 filter every three months.  You’re only using 4 filters per year.

That means you buy a new pack of 24 filters every 6 years!

It’s like you’re only paying $27 every 6 years to make one or more gallons of distilled water a day!

You will need to clean the machine on a regular basis, but you can buy cleaners that get rid of scale and hard water build up that only cost about $3.  You may go through one bottle every 1-2 months.

$3 X 12 months = $36

$36 X 5 = $180 every 5 years in hard water and scale cleaner.

Let’s put it all together:

$250 + $27 + $180 = $457 the first five years (your initial cost is going to be more because of the distilled water machine)

The next five years will be:

$180 + 27 = $207

In 10 years it’s actually cheaper to buy a water distiller than it is buying one gallon every day for 5 years!  The best part is you could actually make more than one gallon per day, so you’re saving more money in more ways than one!

Imagine how much you could be saving if you bought two machines!  You could make more gallons in one day that could probably last you a week.  You could put less wear and tear on your machine, which can double the lifetime of your machines.

Want More Information On How To Get A Really Good Water Distiller Machine?

I did a review on one of the most popular counter top water distiller machines on the market today.  It’s cost-effective (as you can see with the math we just did), and it’s very durable.  Most machines start to get some wear and tear after a few years, but this machine is much more durable.  It comes with a glass water carafe so your water doesn’t taste like plastic.  It comes with a handle so you won’t drop the glass carafe.  These things are not cheap either.  To replace it, it may cost you about $55.  There’s no need to be cheap when it comes to these machines, because they last a really long time and you save an enormous amount of money in 10 years than if you bought your distilled water for 5 years.  If you buy a cheaper machine, over a shorter period of time, you’ll notice the wear and tear fairly early.  It comes with a plastic carafe, which means you’ll end up paying more money to get a glass carafe anyway.

Simply read the review I did and the little journey I went through to find the best water for me to be drinking.  I didn’t go  to the highest mountain to get the cleanest water on Earth.  I didn’t have to sit outside in a thunderstorm to get rain water.  All I did was buy a water distiller and make the water whenever I wanted.  I use it for tea, coffee, cooking, and if it was possible, I would bathe in it (tap water leaves a residue on your skin.  Distilled water is as good on your skin as it is inside your body).megahome heavy duty distiller
